    Are you looking for a dynamic and innovative career with a full-service technology company? GDC IT Solutions is currently recruiting for a Jr. Systems Administrator in the Ebensburg, PA area.

    Position Overview

    This position is responsible for all aspects of network administration including servers, desktop systems, communications hardware/software and office systems. 

    Responsibilities

    • System administration (including backup, security management, user account management, e-mail systems including e-mail web server, internet access, office systems and applications support, VPNs, firewalls, switches, routers, LANs, WANs, wireless access points, etc).
    • Performs network access syslogs and audit reports.
    • Supports server, network and desktop hardware, software and applications.
    • Performs technology needs analysis.
    • Rolls out hardware and software to ensure optimal deployment of resources.
    • Plans, implements, and supports the network and computing infrastructure plan.
    • Manages small to medium-sized projects according to agreed upon budgets and schedules.
    • Assists with technology planning through ongoing research.
    • Consults with clients to specify system requirements and design solutions.
    • Works in tandem with IT and Support Departments.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • 3-4 years of IT industry experience. 
    • Experience as an administrator on a medium-sized network of servers, desktop systems and communication devices using current technologies.
    • Associate Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or Business Administration, supplemented with one or more courses in current technology. 
    • Knowledge of Windows servers and desktop products.
    • Knowledge of VMWare infrastructure and network product lines.
    • Familiar with Cisco networks.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of setting up remote access for users.
    • Demonstrated ability to administer a 250+ node network including firewalls.
    • Demonstrated ability to support networked printers and photocopiers.
    • Demonstrated working knowledge of current communications devices and protocols, server and desktop technologies. 
    • Ability to manage multiple projects, activities and tasks simultaneously.

    Preferred Experience

    • Bachelors Degree preferred. 
    • VMWare, Microsoft, ConnectWise and Cisco Certifications/Licensure. 
    • Experience racking, cabling and configuring a switch or router. 
    • Ability to negotiate hardware/software service and technical support contracts with vendors.
    • Supervising, coaching, and mentoring of network services assistant position.
    • Facilitation and change management skills.
    • Must be able to maintain security and confidentiality over sensitive customer or business information.
    • Must be able to clearly express ideas verbally, graphically and in writing for professional interaction with customers and co-workers.
