    GDC is currently seeking an Information System Security Officer to join our team in the Washington, DC area.

    Position Overview

    This position will directly support the Navy Band and ISSM in creating and implementing a full Information Assurance Program.  This position will support high level consulting and analysis to the band senior leadership.  The resource will be a subject matter expert on the Information Assurance/Certification and Accreditation processes of the Navy.  The plan will be updated and refined as necessary.  Progress reporting and management of the process will be required.


    • Manage and monitor all of the various Information Assurance and Certification and Accreditation processes that are conducted at and by the US Navy Band (USNB).
    • Monitor and report on progress towards various IT security goals developed and tracked by leadership. Assist in the leveling of resources and work efforts as directed.
    • Assist the leadership team with developing and maintaining and overall Information Assurance Program for the USNB which will lay out the overall goals, responsibilities, and schedules for achieving and maintaining a security posture commensurate with DoD and Navy directives and goals. As part of the plan, assist in the development of security training goals for USNB staff.
    • At the direction of the leadership team, research, analyze, and report on new technologies and methods for securing, maintaining, and enhancing USNB systems and other IT assets necessary to achieve the mission of the band. This includes, but is not limited to, cloud hosting/cloud computing.
    • Attend meetings with the USNB staff as the subject matter expert on IT security and its role in protecting the band’s systems. As necessary, create white papers or other presentation briefing materials to assist leadership in promulgating system security information both up and down the chain of command.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in an information systems or information technology field.
    • 7 years of professional experience. 
    • Candidate must be familiar with the DOD DIACAP/RMF accreditation process.
    • Candidate will have documented management experience with an Information Security team and program supporting Department of Defense clients. 
    • Experience for the candidate for this position will include policy analysis and review, specifically within the realm of Information Assurance and/or Certification and Accreditation. 
    • Candidate will have documented experience in cloud computing/cloud based applications.
    • Active secret security clearance and ability to meet requirements for SIPRNet and NIPRnet privileged access shall be required by personnel supporting USNB and Fleet Band Activities to commence required services.
    • Resources are required to be compliant with SECNAV M-5239.20 Cybersecurity / Information Assurance Workforce.
