  • Overview

    GDC is currently recruiting for a Desktop Support Analyst/IT Administrator in the Harrisburg, PA area.


    • The Desktop Support Analyst/IT Administrator is responsible for providing day-to-day desktop support across multiple local facilities while also supporting the Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), and part of the Network Services Division.
    • Performing basic system upgrades, network/server documentation, daily administration, and problem resolution.
    • Provide technical support for desktops, laptops, wireless devices, firewalls/routers, printers, monitors, projectors, and peripheral devices.
    • Assist the Systems Administrator with the enterprise backup system of all servers, SAN, NAS, and other devices.
    • Analyze and troubleshoot the server logs and track the nature and resolution of the problems on daily basis.
    • Assist in the administration of Active Directory, Open Directory, and group policies.
    • Assist in the support of Telecommunications environment to include VOIP.
    • Coordinate with the Network Services Manager for access to the internet, data network equipment, and management of the Domain Name Server (DNS), DHCP Server and IIS and all related operations and information servers.
    • Create, maintain and complete IT logs and audits. 

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in IT related field or at least 2 years of professional desktop support experience required
    • Excellent technical and troubleshooting skills, as well as interpersonal and written communication skills
    • Experience supporting some or all of the following technologies:
      • Windows server environments to include Active Directory and Group Policies 
      • Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting routers and switches
      • Installing, upgrading, and supporting Windows OS (XP-10)
      • Microsoft Exchange 2007 and 2010
      • Network fundamentals and TCP/IP Protocol
      • PBX Phone systems

    Preferred Experience

    • CCNA, CCNP, Network+, A+, ITIL Foundations V3.0
    • Experience with supporting:
      • VMware
      • VoIP systems
      • Barracuda Backup, Barracuda mail archiving, and web content filtering
      • IDS Blade systems, NAS and SAN
      • Apple products, including PC's and mobile devices
    • General experience with:
      • Full-disk encryption
      • KACE
      • Scripting and drive mapping
