    Position Overview

    The Lead Network Engineer role will require you to work with a team of IT professionals in providing quality support services to our user base. The Lead Network Engineer will be responsible for the setup, configuration, project management of the core Cisco network environment including; Citrix Netscaler appliances, and the corporate IP phone system. The individual will be responsible for taking on the technical leadership role of other team members. This position will require an individual to work closely with management and external vendors. The individual must be able to communicate complex technical topics in summary form to various levels of management and vendors. This individual will also be critical to technical troubleshooting efforts, development of optimal network solutions, and resolving issues in a timely manner.


    • Perform day-to-day Network Administrative tasks.
    • Ensure complete ownership (technical and functional) of the network system. This requires the ability to proactively gain technical expertise/mastery of the systems through self-education, creativity, and experimentation.
    • Ensure high availability for all core Cisco switches, routers, firewalls and wireless devices.
    • IP Phone setup, configuration and support.
    • Citrix Netscaler setup, configuration and support.
    • Maintain and upgrade Cisco hardware and operating systems.
    • Monitor network traffic to identify failures or potential performance problems.
    • Act as primary contact for all level (2) and level (3) issues.
    • Develop and maintain procedures for installation, upgrades and configuration of network equipment.
    • Research and recommend innovative and/or automated approaches for administration tasks.  Identify approaches that leverage internal resources and provide economies of scale.
    • Provide support per request from user community to investigate and troubleshoot issues. 
    • Ability to communicate industry best practices and apply a practical implementation to the environments.
    • Establish and maintain cooperative and supportive relationships with team members and users.
    • Participate in 24x7 on-call responsibilities and maintenance window activities.
    • Implement and maintain network security.
    • Periodic travel to various Distribution Centers located across the US and Canada.
    • Network Management is also often responsible for supporting end user remote connectivity issues such as VPN, remote desktop access and wireless connectivity.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • 7+ years of network experience.
    • Experience working with Cisco UCM, switches and routers, firewalls, access points, wireless devices, and IP phones.
    • Experience in Call Center systems, such as Cisco, Microsoft, Avaya and Alcatel.
    • Knowledge of network security practices. 
    • Advanced knowledge of analyzing existing data networks and recommending scalable solutions.
    • Advanced knowledge of Cisco data center architecture.
    • Experience in the design, build deploy and maintenance of enterprise WAN/LAN/VOIP networks.
    • Advanced knowledge of server load-balancing appliances, such as Cisco, Netscaler and F5.
    • Experience with redundancies.
    • Experience with firewall configuration.
    • Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of users, managers, technical staff, and subject matter experts to build consensus.
    • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
    • Strong analytical skills to analyze complex problems, interpret operational needs, identify creative solutions, and develop new strategies and procedures when needed.
    • Ability to work cross-functionally to solve complex problems and improve quality and service.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously within established time constraints.
    • Highly motivated with keen problem solving and design skills at the enterprise level.

    Preferred Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
    • CCNA or CCNP certifications preferred.
