Are you looking for a dynamic and innovative career with a full-service technology company? GDC IT Solutions is currently recruiting for a Cisco Voice Network Engineer in the Wyomissing, PA or Allentown, PA area.


  • Provide technical leadership for Consulting Services projects.​
  • Consult, assess or audit, design and interview customers to determine highly technical requirements.
  • Convert requirements into actionable scope of work.
  • Provide knowledge transfer to the customer.
  • Perform analysis of the networking problems as well as provide highest-level crisis management.
  • Ensure familiarity with customer network planning, implementation and support processes and procedures.
  • Engineer, configure and lead the design, configuration and deployment of Unified Communications (Video, VoIP and data networks), LAN/WAN, Cisco routers, switches, and other network infrastructure devices.
  • Deliver to current client requirements and generate additional consulting work by understanding the client's need and showing them the justification for new technologies that fit their business.
  • Assist clients in the daily maintenance of video/audio, voice and data network infrastructure including LAN/WAN, and VoIP. Serve as tier 1, 2 and/or tier 3 resource for video/audio, voice and data networks and related network infrastructure devices.
  • Review data monitoring stats and confirm SLAs with carriers are being obtained.
  • Review network utilization statistics to verify that circuits are properly sized. Take proactive approaches in provisioning bandwidth to meet needs or determine more analysis is required to determine types of bandwidth usage.
  • Provide regular status reports on tasks accomplished, current issues and progress toward goals.
  • Apply business development skills to identify potential sales leads and opportunities and communicate discovered opportunities to the regional sales team.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and/or military experience.
  • CCNA/CCNP or CCNA/CCNP-Voice (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years experience with Cisco Unified Communication solutions.
  • 5+ years of experience in LAN/WAN network administration and engineering.
  • Expert-level experience in relevant fields of network engineering/implementation.
  • Excellent technical skills on Service Provider networks.
  • Competitive equipment knowledge and experience with a channel partner, large enterprise or university., service operator (carrier), Third Party Network Consulting Services Company or other relevant industry.
  • Expert-level hands-on operation of networking equipment, management tools and network analyzers.
  • Implementation and administration background with Cisco Unified Communications (Telepresence, Collaboration, Applications), Video/Audio systems.
  • Implementation and administration background in at least two of these areas: Call Manager & Unity Connection, Unity, UCCX, Instant Messaging & Presence, Expressway.
  • Prior experience configuring Cisco UCS servers, TMS/TMS-XE.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working as a consultant preferred.
