Overview

GDC is currently recruiting for an IT Support Specialist to support our client the Hanover/York, PA area.

Position Overview

The IT Support Specialist will assist in the maintenance and upgrading of information technology systems, and provide technical phone, email, and deskside support to end users. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide immediate support for hardware and software problems arising in technology systems.

  • Manage the installation, maintenance, and distribution of Windows operating systems and software applications, including the discovery, imaging, data transfer, and post-installation support of PC’s.

  • Assist in completing/managing service requests and Helpdesk tickets from employees and effectively communicate these needs to the Technology staff, where applicable.
  • Assist in the selection, implementation, and configuration of new hardware.

  • Assist in the maintenance of the Local Area Networks (LANs) within buildings, and the Wide Area Network (WAN) connections between buildings.

  • Provide maintenance for video/media hardware and distribution systems.

  • Assist in the installation of cabling solutions required for voice, video, and computer data services within the School.

  • Help to maintain a current inventory of technology hardware.

  • Document procedures and support details.

  • Maintain and support the in-house content management systems. 

  • Support mobile presence to efficiently facilitate internal communications.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate Degree or higher in Information Systems or a related field of study.

  • 1-2 years of experience in Information Systems or a related field.  Current, relevant trade certifications (including but not limited to

  • CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, or ITIL) may be considered in lieu of work experience.

  • Fundamental knowledge of client-side and server-side scripting for web applications.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience managing iOS and MDM solutions is a plus.
